Professor Koichiro Yamauchi (Dr. Eng)

Koichiro Yamauchi received the B.E. and M.E. degrees in 1989 and 1991, respectively, in electrical and computer engineering from the Nagoya Institute of Technology, Japan. and the Ph.D. degree in engineering science from the Osaka University. Japan, in 1994.

From April 1994 to October 2000, he was at the Department of Intelligence and Computer Science of the Nagoya Institute of Technology.
From November 2000 to 2003, he has been with Hokkaido University, where he was an Associate Professor of the Graduate School of Engineering. Since 2004, he is an Associate Professor of Graduate School of Information Science and Technology of Hokkaido University. Since 2009, he is a Professor of Chubu University, Department of Information Science.

His current research interest includes incremental learning algorithms for model based learning systems in Nonstationary Environments, computational modeling of biological memory systems and implementation of the learning algorithms for embedded systems.

He is the member of IEEE Computer Society, IEICE the institute of electronics, information and communication engineers, Japan Society for Fuzzy Theory and Intelligent Informatics, Japanese Neural Network Society and Information Processing Society of Japan.
